عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضى الله عنه، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: «مَا بُعِثَ نَبِيٌّ إِلَّا أَنْذَرَ أُمَّتَهُ الأعْوَرَ الكَذَّابَ، أَلا إِنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ، وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ، وَإِنَّ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ مَكْتُوبٌ "كَافِرٌ"
25 - The Impostor
Anas ibn Mālik narrated that God’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
Every Prophet warned his community against the one-eyed liar. He is certainly one-eyed, and your Lord is not one-eyed. Between his eyes ‘kāfir’ is written.
Summary of Meaning
The Prophet (peace be upon him) gives us some description of the Impostor Misīḥ, who will provide the hardest trial on earth. Every prophet warned his people about him and the hardship that comes with him. He is one-eyed, and in between his eyes the word kāfir, meaning ‘unbeliever’, is written and this will be read by every Muslim.
