Choosing one’s spouse

عن أبي هُرَيرة رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: «تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ لأَرْبَعٍ: لِمَالِهَا، وَلِحَسَبِهَا، وَجَمَالِهَا، وَلِدِينِهَا، فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ!»

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

A woman is sought in marriage for four things: her wealth, family lineage, beauty and faith. Make sure to have the religious one, [for if you do not] you end up the poorer.

Related by al-Bukhari, 5090; Muslim, 1466.
