عن أبي هُرَيرة رضى الله عنه قال: قال رسول اللهﷺ: «أنا أَوْلى الناس بعِيسى بنِ مَريمَ في الدنيا والآخرةِ، والأنبياءُ إِخْوَةٌ لِعَلَّاتٍ؛ أمهاتُهم شتَّى، ودِينُهم واحدٌ»، وفي رواية: «ليس بَيْني وبينَه نَبِيٌّ».
15 - Islam is the faith of all prophets
Abu Hurayrah narrated that God’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
I am the closest of all people to Jesus son of Mary in both this life and the life to come. Prophets are siblings, having different mothers, but their faith is one. Another version adds: There was no other Prophet between us.
Summary of Meaning
The Prophet (peace be upon him) says that he is the closest to Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). No other prophet was sent by God in the intervening period between them. Moreover, all prophets are brethren because they preached and advocated the same faith.
