عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ شَرَائِعَ الإِسْلَامِ قَدْ كَثُرَتْ عَلَيَّ، فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِشَيْءٍ أَتَشَبَّثُ بِهِ، قَالَ: «لَا يَزَالُ لِسَانُكَ رَطْبًا مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ».
115 - Frequent remembrance of God
‘Abdullāh ibn Busr said that
1. A man said to the Prophet: ‘Messenger of God, Islamic teachings are too numerous for me. Point out to me something to which I can hold on.’
2. The Prophet said to him: ‘Let your tongue be always fresh with the remembrance of God’.

Abu Ṣafwān ‘Abdullāh ibn Busr al-Māzinī was a companion of the Prophet, as were his parents, brother and sister. Once, the Prophet placed his palm on his head and prayed for him. He prayed with God’s Messenger, facing both the two qiblahs. He settled in Syria. He joined Mu‘āwiyah ibn Abi Sufyān when the Muslims attempted the takeover of Cyprus during ‘Uthmān’s reign. He was the last of the Prophet’s companions to die in Syria. He died in Year 96 AH 715 CE, aged 100 years
